![]() ![]() I turned on the unit and it worked terrific. I turned off the radio and removed it from its bin. I dismissed the issue as a plug not completely seated. ![]() Adjusting the balance control was not the solution. I connected the harness (it installs between the radio and the existing harness) and then fitted the radio back in the bin. The air was "blue" when I finally got the thing attached.Ĥ) I thought I had smartly dressed the long wiring harness through a large whole behind and to the left of where the REC radio installs. I secured the unit to the bracket with the supplied zip-ties. I ended up having to tear off on side of the pad to get the unit to fit. I had prewrapped the unit with the sticky adhesive pad only to discover it impeded my installation. My scraped and bloodied hands will attest to that. I could use the stubby on the passenger side screws.ģ) There is very little room to position the unit behind the black plastic bracket that sits between the NAV unit and the temperature control cluster. I had to use a very small spanner wrench and it took a long time to unscrew/screw these. I could not move the console forward enough to use even a stubby philips screwdriver. These points matter.Ģ) Removing the driver side mounting screws holding the temperature control cluster was tedious. The wiring harness is thick and long (because it is designed for a number of Jeep models). I followed both a combination of the instructions enclosed in the kit plus the wonderful photos finfir supplied.ġ) The Mopar kit unit is large (about the size of a small package of cigarettes).
